Important updates on the Emerge Training Program:

With the COVID-19 pandemic ongoing, Emerge is still working to provide for our mission to recruit, train, and build a network of Democratic women while ensuring we’re still listening to the advice of experts around the world. We wanted to show you what we’re still providing for our sisters and how we’re preparing for the most important election of our lives.

We will be changing the timeline of our 70 hour premier training program – instead of the Emerge class of 2021 beginning in September, the training program will begin in January of 2021 and will graduate in June of 2021.

Applications for the class of 2021 will open in September and run through to November 15th.

Why are we making this change?

This will allow us to place a renewed emphasis on providing support for our alumni who are running for office during this time.

We must respond to the realities of social distancing and our in-person training – that means, creating better online access for all our training, supporting our trainers as they create online learning protocols, and consider part in-person and part virtual training realities.

We will offer continuing education for our alumnae through our “Women’s Club Wednesday” programming and will continue to support Emerge alumna and candidates through Sunday Morning Virtual Brunches.

The reality of this pandemic is that this has proven why we need women leaders in our elected offices. While we’re proud to place such an integral role in making sure that Democratic women get elected,  Our organization, like all organizations, are adapting to these changes. I’m open to your feedback and ideas anytime. Please reach out to myself or any member of the Emerge Maine Board to discuss ways you can help Emerge, any feedback you have, or for any reason.
